DR ANDY EFFTING

Andy graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1981, earning him the prestigious Henry St. John Randolph Medal for the Best All-Round Dental Student of the Year.

After relocating to Cape Town, in 1983 he established Hout Bay Dental Studio and what began as a single-dentist practice, over the past four decades has evolved into a thriving multidisciplinary dental facility.

An early adopter and advocate of mercury-free, minimally invasive aesthetic dentistry, Dr Effting has championed holistic patient care throughout his career. His expertise in these areas has earned him a reputation among integrative health practitioners, who often refer patients to him with complex dental concerns. Furthermore, he has extensive experience in dental implantology, honed through ongoing participation in international programs and symposiums.

As a leading dentist in Cape Town, Dr Effting has made significant contributions to the international dental community. He is a Founding member and past President of the highly esteemed South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD) and a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI), headquartered in Switzerland.

Dr Effting is a renowned lecturer and published author, having contributed to dental and health journals, plus has been featured as a guest on numerous television and radio shows.
